Good day all

I was told by Franco Massyn that I can try and post on this community and see if I get a response.

I have 2 x Linksys DMA-2200 extenders (one still in sealed box) for sale at R1,500 each or both for R2500. I have used it on Vista and W7 and I believe it also works with MCE.

Please contact me if you are interrested or need more information.

Thank you.

Hi

I also have a DMA2200 which I use at the moment. I would like to have one for the kids as well. Do you know if one can use two extenders and watch different movies or live tv on each one of them? I do not want to be switched over to animation while watching a movie.

Hi,

You can use two extenders at the same time to watch different content, provided that your Media Center has enough free tuners available. For instance, if you have a dual tuner in your Media Center, then you can watch two different channels on either the two extenders or one extender and the Media Center.

Hi Christopher

You can use up to 4 or 5 extenders per MC PC. They do work independant and as Franco says if you want to watch LiveTV on both at the same time you need a dual tuner. So you will be able to watch one movie and the kids another etc.

As mentioned I have one still in a sealed box and another used one.

Please advise, I am in Pretoria.

Cheers

Hi,

Is there any reason why you are selling these extenders.
Were you not happy with them?

Good day

I originally bought two and only got to use one in our main bedroom. The device works fine and my biggest concern was no native support for DVD format. Youi can use SW like Transcode 360 which then streams DVD format to the extender and it works however I wanted full PC support in my bedroom and hence replaced it with a small EeBox full PC which gives me more functionality.

Using standard features like Music Library, Photos, Videos as well as AVI's works perfect on the DMA. I used it on a 100Mbps LAN (Hard Wired) although the device does support Wi-Fi. The internal DVD player also works well.

I guess it is all down to your requirements for such a device.

Cheers
